RSP and RPP lawmakers boycott parliament again over visit visa scandal

Both parties have been demanding the formation of a high-level judicial investigation committee over the visit visa scandal, and have previously boycotted parliamentary sessions over the same issue.

KATHMANDU, July 23: Lawmakers from the opposition parties Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) boycotted today's meeting of the House of Representatives as well, demanding a high-level probe into the visit visa scandal.



Both parties have been demanding the formation of a high-level judicial investigation committee over the visit visa scandal, and have previously boycotted parliamentary sessions over the same issue.

As soon as today’s meeting began, lawmakers from both parties stood up from their seats and announced their boycott of the session.


Following this, Speaker Devraj Ghimire allotted time to RPP President Rajendra Lingden and RSP lawmaker Bindabasini Kansakar to speak. After they presented their views, all lawmakers from both parties walked out of the meeting.
