KATHMANDU, July 24: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) once again boycotted the Parliament meeting on Thursday, marking the 59th day of their protest.
Although the meeting was scheduled to start at 1 pm, it began late. Both RSP and RPP walked out, continuing their protest over the alleged involvement of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in a visit visa scam.
RPP boycotts House meeting, RSP protests continue

The two parties have been demanding a high-level parliamentary probe committee or a judicial commission. However, the government has shown no willingness to meet these demands.
The government instead formed a bureaucratic committee led by former Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi. But both RSP and RPP say they do not trust the committee and have refused to end their boycott.
The budget session began on May 27, and both parties have been obstructing the Parliament since that day. Initially, the main opposition party CPN (Maoist Centre) also supported the protest. But on June 13, it reached a three-point agreement with the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-UML and decided to participate in the Parliament. RSP and RPP, however, continue to remain outside.
