Govt decides to remove Revenue Secretary position at the Finance Ministry

The government has removed the position of Revenue Secretary under the Ministry of Finance (MoF), deciding to maintain only the Finance Secretary at the ministry.

KATHMANDU, Sept 24: The government has removed the position of Revenue Secretary under the Ministry of Finance (MoF), deciding to maintain only the Finance Secretary at the ministry.



With the new decision, the government has transferred the current Revenue Secretary Dinesh Ghimire to the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission.

Ghimire has been accused of involvement in policy corruption and working in favour of businesspersons to fulfill his vested interest. Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyay will be retained in his position.
