KATHMANDU, May 26: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to demand the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in connection with the visit visa scandal. Acting Spokesperson of RSP Manish Jha stated that the decision was made during the party’s parliamentary meeting held on Monday at Singha Durbar.
The RSP underscored the need for a thorough investigation following the controversy and has resolved to press for the Home Minister’s resignation during the Parliament session scheduled for Tuesday, positioning itself as a strong opposition force.

Jha made it clear that it would be unacceptable for the Home Minister to respond without first allowing lawmakers to question him. He emphasized that RSP lawmakers would present factual queries in Parliament before any response from the Minister would be entertained.
He further argued that Nepali Congress (NC) leaders have no authority to give the Home Minister—who is also a Congress leader—a "clean chit" in the ongoing scandal. He urged the Congress party to facilitate a fair and transparent investigation.
Jha also recalled that when questions were raised against its own leaders in the past, the NC had disrupted Parliament on 22 occasions, a point that would be raised in the House. He added that the RSP aims to demonstrate stronger and more principled parliamentary conduct than other parties.
