KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Laxman Paswan, the main accused in the murder of Ruby Devi Sah, 30, whose body was found inside a suitcase in Rautahat, has succumbed to burn injuries from self immolation on Wednesday evening.
SP Apil Bohora of the Kathmandu District Police Range told Republica that he breathed his last at Kirtipur-based Nepal Cleft and Burn Hospital. He was rescued by the police earlier on Wednesday from a field in Madhav Narayan Municipality-6, Rautahat, with severe burns to head and in over 60 per cent of his body.

He allegedly killed Sah of Madhavnarayan Municipality-6, Madhopur on August 23 and then released a 9-minute long video explaining the decision to take such an extreme measure. Five days after killing his long-time girlfriend, he had then attempted to kill himself by dousing diesel over his body and setting it on fire. Although he was rescued by the police and was subsequently transferred to the hospital in Kathmandu, he succumbed to the injuries..
Paswan, in the video, accused Sah’s mother for the reason that prompted him to murder his girlfriend. He accused her for not accepting their love and forcing Sah to marry other people among other accusations.
