KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The monsoon trough has shifted south of its usual position, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) said.
Generally cloudy skies are expected across the country this afternoon, with moderate rain likely in parts of Lumbini Province, several hilly areas, and some pockets of the Terai.

By tonight, most of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, along with the hilly regions, will remain under cloudy skies, while other areas will see partly cloudy conditions. Moderate showers are expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with isolated rainfall in other provinces.
The MFD has also warned of heavy downpours in some Tarai areas of Koshi and hilly parts of Bagmati Province.
