KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has set the foreign currency exchange rates for Friday. According to the central bank, the US dollar has increased, with the buying rate for one U.S. dollar being Rs. 139.79 and the selling rate being Rs. 140.39. On Thursday, the buying rate for one US dollar was set at Rs 139.61 and the selling rate at Rs 140.21.
The buying rate for one euro is Rs. 163.35, and the selling rate is Rs. 164.05. Meanwhile, the buying rate for one British pound sterling is Rs. 189.82, and the selling rate is Rs. 190.64. The buying rate for one Swiss franc is Rs. 173.45, and the selling rate is Rs. 174.19.
Nepali rupee weakens to a six-month low against US dollar

The buying rate for one Australian dollar is Rs. 91.21, and the selling rate is Rs. 91.60; for one Canadian dollar, the buying rate is Rs. 101.42 and the selling rate is Rs. 101.85; and for one Singapore dollar, the buying rate is Rs. 109.11 and the selling rate is Rs. 109.58.
The central bank has set the buying rate for 10 Japanese yen at Rs. 9.54, and the selling rate is Rs. 9.58. For one Chinese yuan, the buying rate is Rs. 19.50 and the selling rate is Rs. 19.58; for one Saudi Arabian riyal, the buying rate is Rs. 37.26 and the selling rate is Rs. 37.42; and for one Qatari riyal, the buying rate is Rs. 38.36 and the selling rate is Rs. 38.52.
The buying rate for one Thai baht is Rs. 4.32 and the selling rate is Rs. 4.33; for one UAE dirham, the buying rate is Rs. 38.06 and the selling rate is Rs. 38.22; for one Malaysian ringgit, the buying rate is Rs. 33.18 and the selling rate is Rs. 33.33; for 100 South Korean won, the buying rate is Rs. 10.08 and the selling rate is Rs. 10.13; for one Swedish krona, the buying rate is Rs. 14.61 and the selling rate is Rs. 14.67; and for one Danish krone, the buying rate is Rs. 21.89 and the selling rate is Rs. 21.98.
The buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar is Rs. 17.83 and the selling rate is Rs. 17.90; for one Kuwaiti dinar, the buying rate is Rs. 457.80 and the selling rate is Rs. 459.77; for one Bahraini dinar, the buying rate is Rs. 370.77 and the selling rate is Rs. 372.36; and for one Omani riyal, the buying rate is Rs. 363.09 and the selling rate is Rs. 364.64. The buying rate for 100 Indian rupees is Rs. 160.00, and the selling rate is Rs. 160.15.
NRB stated that these rates are subject to revision at any time if necessary. It added that commercial banks may quote slightly different rates and that the updated exchange rates are available on the central bank’s website.
