KATHMANDU, Aug 9: The Nepali rupee has inched up against the US dollar, according to the latest foreign exchange rates published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for Saturday.
The buying rate for one US dollar has been fixed at Rs 139.96 and the selling rate at Rs 140.56, slightly lower than Friday’s Rs 140.03 and Rs 140.63, respectively.
One euro will trade at Rs 162.94 (buying) and Rs 163.64 (selling), while the UK pound sterling stands at Rs 188.11 and Rs 188.92. The Swiss franc is pegged at Rs 173.23 and Rs 173.97.

Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar is set at Rs 91.30 and Rs 91.69; the Canadian dollar at Rs 101.93 and Rs 102.36; and the Singapore dollar at Rs 108.94 and Rs 109.40.
The Japanese yen (10 units) is valued at Rs 9.47 and Rs 9.51; the Chinese yuan at Rs 19.48 and Rs 19.57; the Saudi Arabian riyal at Rs 37.29 and Rs 37.45; and the Qatari riyal at Rs 38.40 and Rs 38.56.
Other rates include the Thai baht at Rs 4.32 and Rs 4.34; the UAE dirham at Rs 38.11 and Rs 38.37; the Malaysian ringgit at Rs 33.01 and Rs 33.15; 100 South Korean won at Rs 10.06 and Rs 10.11; the Swedish krona at Rs 14.58 and Rs 14.64; and the Danish krone at Rs 21.83 and Rs 21.92.
The Hong Kong dollar is set at Rs 17.83 and Rs 17.91; the Kuwaiti dinar at Rs 458.04 and Rs 460.01; the Bahraini dinar at Rs 371.24 and Rs 372.83; and the Omani rial at Rs 363.52 and Rs 365.01. The buying rate for 100 Indian rupees remains at Rs 160, and the selling rate at Rs 160.15.
