Youth arrested with over two quintals of cannabis

SIRAHA, July 13: Police have arrested a 23-year-old man with more than two quintals of illegal cannabis in Malaha Tole, Aurahi Rural Municipality–5 of Siraha.



According to District Police Office, Siraha, information officer Birendra Kumar Paswan, the arrested individual has been identified as local resident Ram Udgar Malaha.

He was apprehended on Friday night based on a special tip-off while peddling the cannabis.


Information officer Paswan informed that Malaha was taken into custody along with a motorcycle bearing registration number Pra 2–01–003 Pa 2154. During the arrest, police recovered 212 kilograms and 925 grams of cannabis, packed in seven bundles.


Upon spotting the police, several other individuals fled the scene with a vehicle. A search operation is underway to locate the absconding suspects. Further investigation into the case is ongoing, police reported.
