NEPSE plummets 19.89 points as daily turnover declines to Rs 4.43 billion

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday plummeted 19.89 points to close at 2,741.97 points.



The secondary market gained around 27 points in the pre-opening session and opened for the main hour trading at 2,788.16 points. The market then went to a successive decline throughout the trading hours.

All the 13 groups were the losers in the intraday trading. Non-life insurance shed the highest of 87.91 points.  


The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 2.69 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.43 billion from Rs 5.10 billion on Monday. 


Among the individual companies, 29 were gainers while 221 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 227.04 million.


Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the largest of 7.47 percent. Him Star Urja Company Limited by adding 9.98 percent in its market value was recorded as the highest gainer.
