KATHMANDU, July 8: The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, and the monsoon trough is positioned around its average location.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the provinces of Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim are expected to experience rainfall on Tuesday morning.
Heavy rainfall forecast in Bagmati, several provinces

In the past three hours, Siddhapur of Baitadi recorded 51.2 mm of rainfall. Similarly, Gaira in Doti received 40.4 mm, Jajarkot 31.8 mm, Keur village in Rolpa 29.6 mm, Naubasta in Banke 31.8 mm, Baliya in Kailali 29 mm, and Saukhark in Dadeldhura recorded 29.2 mm of rainfall.
The weather is forecast to remain partly to generally cloudy in the afternoon across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas of all provinces, as well as at a few places in the rest of the country.
There is also a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim Provinces. Light to moderate snowfall or rain is possible at a few places in the high-hill and mountainous regions.
Tonight, the weather will remain generally to partly cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely at some places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, as well as at a few places in other provinces, according to the MFD.
One or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces may experience heavy rainfall. Light to moderate snowfall or rain is also possible at one or two places in the high-hill and mountainous regions, MFD says.
