Kathmandu, June 29: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall, and even snowfall in higher elevations, across various parts of Nepal today. There is a high chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the hilly areas of other regions.
Heavy rainfall likely in several provinces today

A few locations in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces—and isolated spots in the hilly regions of other provinces—are expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are also likely in some areas of the high hills and Himalayan region.
Throughout the day and night, the country is expected to experience generally to fully cloudy conditions due to the influence of monsoon winds. Tonight, thunder and lightning with light to moderate rain are likely in many parts of the aforementioned provinces and in some areas elsewhere. The department also warns of the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in a few locations of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with further chances of light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in high-altitude areas.
