KATHMANDU, July 12: The entire country remains under the influence of monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough positioned near its average location in the east and slightly north of average in the west, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
Partly to generally cloudy skies are expected nationwide. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as scattered parts of other regions.
Heavy rainfall forecast in Bagmati, several provinces
The DHM said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The department further forecasts light to moderate rain or snowfall in a few high-altitude and Himalayan areas.
Tonight, skies will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and scattered areas elsewhere. Heavy rainfall may occur in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or snowfall is anticipated in one or two high-altitude and Himalayan regions tonight.
