One held for allegedly raping minor girl

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Police on Monday arrested a 24-year-old man in charge of allegedly raping a minor girl while under the influence of alcohol in Gongabu of Tokha Municipality-13, Kathmandu.



Based on a complaint registered by the victim after few weeks of the incident, the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj with the support of Metropolitan Police Sector, Tokha arrested Lalit Pun, 24, of Khunga-1 of Baglung district.

According to the fifteen-year-old victim, she was forcefully intoxicated with alcohol and raped in Hotel Green Nepal few weeks ago. 


“We are investigating the case and a lot of things are yet to be verified,” Inspector Dilli Chauhan of Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj said. The arrested has been denying his involvement in the crime, according to the police. Police said the girl had remained mum for few weeks fearing the wrath of her parents. Later on, she lodged the complaint with support from her relatives.
