NEPSE sheds 15.08 points, daily turnover declines to Rs 7.57 billion

KATHMANDU, April 29: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 15.08 points to close at 2,631.98 points. 



The secondary market opened at 2,647.07 points and reached the day’s high at 2,666.54 points in the first half an hour of trading. The index dropped around 22 points and hovered around 2,644 points for the next two hours, before it plunged to the day’s low at 2,630.78 points in the last three minutes.

Out of the 13 groups, only mutual funds gained 0.01 points. The life insurance index dropped 70.93 points, the highest of all.


The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined 1.93 points. Daily turnover amount also fell to Rs 7.57 billion from Rs 8.91 billion on Monday.


Among the individual companies, 57 were gainers while 188 were registered as losers. Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 824.37 million.


Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company lost the highest of 9.88 percent. Crest Micro Life Insurance Limited by adding 10 percent in its market value was recorded as the topmost gainer.
