KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday decreased 11.52 points to close at 2,708.25 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,719.77 points and went through nominal fluctuations for the first one and half hours, before the index reached the day’s high at 2,727.42 points in the midway of the total trading time. In the second half, the market went through a steady fall to hit the day’s low at 2,706.46 points in the last 16 minutes of the trading hours. The market recovered only around two points in the remaining time period before it closed for the day.

Three groups—manufacturing and processing, finance and mutual funds—gained 3.27 points, 2.39 points and 0.08 points, respectively. Of the 10 losers, life insurance shed the highest of 51.64 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 2.32 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 4.40 billion from Rs 5.14 billion on Thursday, the last trading day of the last week.
Among the individual companies, 79 were gainers while 173 were recorded as losers. Union Hydropower Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 299.97 million.
Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Ltd had the biggest fall of 4.62 percent in its market value. Him Star Urja Company Limited by adding 9.97 percent was recorded as the highest gainer.
