KATHMANDU, May 28: Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire has claimed that no state body has raised any questions against Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Chief Whip Ghimire made this statement.

“When someone is questioned, no matter how serious the allegation, they deserve a chance to defend themselves,” Ghimire said. “But in this case, no questions have even been raised against him—neither by any individual nor by any institution.”
He stated that unnecessary accusations are being made against Home Minister Lekhak just because an employee was summoned by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), even though the reason for the summons has not been disclosed.
He said, “We know that the CIAA summoned an employee, but no one knows why. They haven’t detained him, and the CIAA itself hasn’t explained the reason. They just told him to come back after 10 days.”
Chief Whip Ghimire also stated that demanding the Home Minister’s resignation and suddenly obstructing Parliament under such circumstances goes against parliamentary practice. “This is completely against parliamentary norms. Our conclusion is that it is against the principles of parliamentary democracy,” Ghimire said.
