Gen Z protesters continue their protest in Baneshwor despite curfew and call to return home

Following the escalation, the government imposed a curfew. The main organizers of the protest then urged everyone to return home. However, many protesters remained in the area as police struggled to disperse them.

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Hundreds of agitated youths were still seen around the prohibited areas in New Baneshwor on Sunday, shouting slogans and attempting to breach the Parliament building.



The protesters also set fire to various structures around the Parliament premises. Earlier, police had fired rubber bullets, used water cannons, and baton-charged the crowd after they breached police barricades and entered the federal Parliament area.
