CIAA urges return of looted office materials

The CIAA requested the return of the loot at Police Circle, Maligaun, Kathmandu or its office, Tangal, in the case of Kathmandu and at offices or nearby police offices for the CIAA offices outside the Kathmandu Valley.

KATHMANDU, Sept 15: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has requested the concerned persons to return the office items that were looted from the CIAA Office and its offices outside the Kathmandu Valley in the course of the September 9 protest.



The CIAA requested the return of the loot at Police Circle, Maligaun, Kathmandu or its office, Tangal, in the case of Kathmandu and at offices or nearby police offices for the CIAA offices outside the Kathmandu Valley.

Issuing a public notice on Monday, the CIAA head office said vehicles (four-wheeler and two-wheelers), televisions, computer sets, micro oven, hard disks, scanner, camera, Ipad, mobile, laptop, heater, fans as well as other goods were looted in course of vandalism, arson and robbery at its central office and the offices of Itahari, Hetauda, Pokhara and Butwal cities on September 9. 


"Activities are underway to identify those involved in vandalism and robbery through CCTV footage. So, we request the concerned sides to return the looted items belonging to CIAA offices soon. Otherwise action would be taken as per the law," reads the notice.
