KATHMANDU, July 3: The country is under the influence of monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough lying near its average position.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), various parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces have been receiving rainfall since Thursday morning.
In the afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected over the hilly regions of all provinces, with partly cloudy skies elsewhere. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thundershowers in many parts of the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as at a few places in other parts of the country.
Heavy rainfall forecast in Bagmati, several provinces
During the night, generally cloudy weather is forecast across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in many areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few other parts.
Likewise, heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is also likely in a few places of the high hilly and Himalayan regions.
