Vehicular movement suspended on Sharada Barrage as Mahakali River sees rising water levels

KANCHANPUR, Aug 8: Authorities have suspended the movement of four-wheelers on the Sharada Barrage following a surge in water flow in the Mahakali River.



According to Spokesperson at Kanchanour District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sagar Bohara, the ban was enforced after the river’s flow reached 103,000 cusecs.

The threshold for suspending vehicle movement on the barrage is 100,000 cusecs. Officials have confirmed that the river’s water level continues to rise.
