The deportees had reportedly violated US immigration laws. While 37 Nepalis were initially scheduled for deportation, only 19 were returned in this group.
Immigration officials said that since Donald Trump’s return to the US presidency, 234 Nepalis have been deported to date. Among those recently returned is a student accused of drunk driving, and another individual who had overstayed after attending a Lions Club program.
