KATHMANDU, July 18: Senior Vice-Chairman of the CPN (UML), Ishwar Pokhrel, has called for serious participation in discussions during Friday’s meeting of the party’s Politburo. The meeting is deliberating on the amendment proposals in the party’s statute.
Taking to Facebook, Pokhrel emphasized the importance of meaningful debate on the draft amendment to the party statute, which will be presented at the upcoming Statute General Convention. He noted that the draft had already been seriously discussed in the Secretariat meeting and urged the same level of engagement from Politburo members.

He expressed confidence that all members would contribute to refining the proposal before it is tabled at the Central Committee.
“The draft amendment to the party statute, which will be presented at the Statute General Convention, was seriously discussed in the Secretariat meeting. Today, discussions will be held among Politburo members. All comrades will seriously engage in the debate and contribute to further refining the proposal to be presented at the Central Committee,” Pokhrel wrote.
The UML Politburo meeting is scheduled for today at 1 PM at the party's headquarters in Chyasal.
