PM Oli urges his Spanish counterpart to establish embassy in Nepal

PM Oli invited Sánchez for an official visit to Nepal and urged him to establish a Spanish embassy in Kathmandu. PM Sánchez, in response, praised Nepal’s contributions to UN peacekeeping missions.

SPAIN, June 30: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on an official visit to Spain to attend the UN's Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, held bilateral talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Sunday in Seville.



During the meeting, the two leaders discussed various aspects of bilateral relations, including tourism, climate change, investment and people-to-people ties.

PM Oli invited Sánchez for an official visit to Nepal and urged him to establish a Spanish embassy in Kathmandu. PM Sánchez, in response, praised Nepal’s contributions to UN peacekeeping missions.


Present at the meeting were PM Oli's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay, Nepal’s Ambassador to Spain Shanil Nepal, and Joint Secretary Krishna Prasad Dhakal.


PM Oli arrived in Seville via Madrid.


He also addressed the Civil Society Forum of the conference as the chief guest.
