UDAYAPUR, Aug 5: One person died and another was injured in a truck accident at Jogipokhari along the Madan Bhandari Highway in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-7.
According to the spokesperson at the District Police Office, Udayapur, Kedar Man Dong, the accident occurred on Monday evening when a truck (Pra 3-0100-6K 0561), en route from Kathmandu to Sunsari, crashed.

Tanka Bahadur Lamichhane Magar, 72, of Rautamai Rural Municipality-7 in Udaypur, who was returning home from tending cattle, died on the spot.
The truck’s assistant driver, Gome Darjee, 40, of Kalinchok Rural Municipality-4 in Dolakha, was injured and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
Police have taken the driver, Nawaraj Raut, 54, of Banepa Municipality-14 in Kavrepalanchok, into custody.
