NEPSE crawls up 6.51 points while daily turnover crashes to Rs 5.63 billion

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased marginally by 6.51 points to close at 2,776.90 points.

KATHMANDU, Aug 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased marginally by 6.51 points to close at 2,776.90 points.



The secondary market opened at 2,770.39 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,796.25 points in the first one and a half hours. In the remaining trading hours, the market went down by around 20 points.

All the 13 groups were the gainers in the intraday trading. Manufacturing and processing posted gains of 35.36 points, the largest of all. 


The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also increased 1.73 points. The daily turnover however declined to Rs 5.63 billion from Rs 6.17 billion. 


Among the individual companies, 142 were gainers while 107 were recorded as losers. United Modi Hydropower had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 317.23 million.


The share price of Sanvi Energy Limited increased 6.98 percent, the largest of all. With a decline of 6.14 percent of its market value, Narayani Development Bank Limited stood as the topmost loser.
