Minister Adhikari calls press conference amid bribery audiotape scandal

KATHMANDU, July 17: Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balaram Adhikari is set to hold a press conference today (Thursday) at 3 pm at the ministry in Singha Durbar complex.

The minister will present the achievements of the fiscal year 2024/25 during the briefing, marking his one-year tenure in office.


However, the press conference comes at a controversial time, as Minister Adhikari has been implicated in a bribery scandal. An audio recording allegedly capturing him accepting a bribe of Rs 3.2 million was made public on Wednesday. He is expected to face tough questions regarding the incident.
