Balen urges all protestors to remain calm, suggests holding talks with Army Chief

He also asked all to be ready to hold talks with the Army Chief, but emphasized that Parliament must be dissolved first.

KATHMANDU, Sep 9: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balen Shah has urged everyone to remain calm.



He made the request on Tuesday afternoon after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced his resignation.

He also asked all to be ready to hold talks with the Army Chief, but emphasized that Parliament must be dissolved first.


“We had made it clear from the beginning — this is purely a Gen-Z movement. Dear Gen-Z, the resignation of your oppressor has already come. Now, please remain calm,” he said.


 “Damage to the nation’s people and property means damage to our own assets. It is necessary for us to stay calm now. From here on, your generation must lead the country. Be prepared.”
