Bhola Thapa, managing director of President Travels, which is the General Sales Agent for the airline in Nepal, said, "We are sure to achieve a significant market share as we are offering low airfare." The airline will add one more flight to New Delhi-Kathmandu sector, taking the number of daily flights to two within next year. He said, "IndiGo plans to operate flights to Kathmandu from Kolkata and also from one of the South Indian cities within a year."
IndiGo with 45 Airbus A320 offers 272 flights connecting 30 destinations within India and abroad. The flight from New Delhi departs at 10:55 am and at 2 pm from Kathmandu.
Aditya Ghosh, president of the airline, said in a press statement that Kathmandu is a key market for the airline and it will stick to its promise of keeping fares low. We are happy to receive good response to our international flights and we hope to create the same magic and success in the Nepali market, he added.

The airline is targeting corporate as well as leisure customers traveling to and from Kathmandu. Thapa said, " Since we are offering low fare and better service, all the potential travelers irrespective of the segment are part of our target group."
Although the number of flights operating in New Delhi-Kathmandu segment has gone up, travel agents consider the segment as pressure segment specially during peak tourist season.
