KATHMANDU, May 28: A meeting between top leaders of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML has concluded that Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak does not need to resign.
The meeting was held at the official residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Baluwatar, where he met with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba to discuss the opposition’s demand for Lekhak’s resignation.

It was agreed during the meeting that Home Minister Lekhak will address the concerns raised by opposition lawmakers during today’s session of the House of Representatives.
Prime Minister Oli reiterated that there is no need for Lekhak to step down.
Meanwhile, opposition parties remain adamant, insisting that parliamentary proceedings will not move forward unless the Home Minister resigns.
