Govt to award Rs 500,000 to Bantamweight Champion Dhant

The PM also informed that Dhant’s coach will receive Rs 200,000 as per the decision.

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Rabindra Dhant, who became the Matrix Fight Night (MFN) Bantamweight Champion by defeating his Indian rival, is set to receive a cash prize of Rs 500,000 as encouragement.

Taking to Facebook, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced that, according to the Cabinet decision made last Monday, the amount will be provided to him. The PM also informed that Dhant’s coach will receive Rs 200,000 as per the decision.


Last Saturday, Dhant, originally from Bajhang, defeated India’s champion Chunreng Koren in the competition held in India.
