BIRGUNJ, Aug 25: A medical team mobilized by Gaur Provincial Hospital, Rautahat, has arrived in Birgunj to extend support in bringing into control the diarrhea and cholera outbreak in Birgunj Metropolis.
The Gaur Provincial Hospital sent the team comprising two doctors and three health assistants led by Dr Parashu Ram Yadav and Dr Bishnu Kumar Sah to Narayani Hospital, Birgunj on Monday after numerous people were found suffering from diarrhea and cholera in city since Friday, said Chairperson of Gaur Provincial Hospital, Mohammad Anwar Hasmi.

"We have sent the medical team in order to assist in controlling the diarrhea and cholera that spread in Birgunj city and coordinate in treatment of the patients," he added.
A total of 79 people were tested positive to cholera in Birgunj, while 103 suffering from diarrhea are receiving treatment at various hospitals.
