Gaur Provincial Hospital mobilizes medics to cholera-hit Birgunj

A total of 79 people tested positive for cholera in Birgunj, while 103 suffering from diarrhea are receiving treatment at various hospitals.

BIRGUNJ, Aug 26: A medical team mobilized by Gaur Provincial Hospital, Rautahat, has arrived to extend support in bringing the diarrhea and cholera outbreak under control in Birgunj Metropolis. 



The Gaur Provincial Hospital sent the team comprising two doctors and three health assistants led by Dr Parashu Ram Yadav and Dr Bishnu Kumar Sah to Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, on Monday after numerous people were found suffering from diarrhea and cholera in the city since Friday, said Chairperson of Gaur Provincial Hospital, Mohammad Anwar Hasmi.

"We have sent the medical team to assist in controlling the diarrhea and cholera that spread in Birgunj city and coordinate the treatment of the patients", he added.
