BARA, June 28: The District Police Office (DPO), Bara, arrested four individuals in possession of 212 kilograms of narcotic drug cannabis on Friday. The police rounded up the individuals while they were transporting a large quantity of cannabis in a pickup van.
Organizing a press conference on Saturday, the police publicly displayed the arrested suspects, the impounded pickup van, and the seized cannabis.

According to the DPO, the suspects were caught with 212 kilograms of cannabis in a white pickup van bearing the registration number Province 03-01-024 Cha 4630, which was traveling from Hetauda towards Prasauti in Gandaki.
The arrestees include the driver, Rabi Karki from Talungka, Thaha Municipality-4, Makwanpur; Bir Bahadur Gole from Tistung; Sajan Muktan from Uttarpani, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-14, Makwanpur; and Mahesh Tamang from Aapsi Chowk, Thakre Rural Municipality-7, Dhading.
The Chief of the DPO Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Tamang, said that the police had received information about a large quantity of cannabis being transported in the pickup van. Acting on this tip-off, a joint police team led by Police Inspector Khem Prasad Nepal from the DPO, along with personnel from the Area Police Office, Simara and Prasauni, intercepted the vehicle near the Gandak Canal road section in Parwanipur Rural Municipality-5, Bahuari, Bara.
