Cannabis seized from ward chairperson’s house in Makwanpur

According to the source within the police, the cannabis was recovered from the house of the ward chairperson. However, authorities have not disclosed the chairperson's name. His son, however, has been arrested and handed over to Makwanpur police.

MAKWANPUR, July 1: Police have seized around 1,074 kilograms of cannabis and arrested four individuals from Kailash Rural Municipality–5, Katahare, in Makwanpur.



According to the source within the police, the cannabis was recovered from the house of the ward chairperson. However, authorities have not disclosed the chairperson's name. His son, however, has been arrested and handed over to Makwanpur police.

Those arrested include 73-year-old Hari Bahadur Waiba, 48-year-old Baddhi Bahadur Pakhrin, 34-year-old Arun Gole, and 19-year-old Rajendra Lama, all residents of the same area.


A joint team from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Koteshwor, and the Area Police Office in Palung conducted a search operation at the residences of Hari Bahadur, Buddhi Bahadur, Arun, Rajendra, as well as Gokarna Paudel, Man Bahadur Moktan, and Somlal Gole. During the operation, police discovered 54 sacks containing cannabis and arrested the suspects on the spot.
