KATHMANDU, June 28: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has announced that she has returned to party politics by renewing the membership of CPN-UML.
Former President Bhandari made the announcement while addressing a function organized by Madan Bhandari Foundation on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Saturday.

Bhandari's return to party politics follows in the footstep of former Vice-President Nanda Kishor Pun who returned to party politics of main opposition party CPN (Maoist Center).
It is not appropriate for former head-of-state of any multi-party democratic political system to return to party politics after retirement from their posts.
