KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Outgoing Education Minister Raghuji Pant has said that members of Gen Z should now step forward and engage in politics.
Speaking on Nagarik Frontline, a program hosted by Nepal Republic Media Limited, Pant shared his experience, saying the young generation’s message is loud and clear: they no longer trust the senior leaders of political parties.

“I request the youngsters and Gen Z to step forward in politics. But let me remind them that the path of this struggle is not as easy as it sounds. It is a war like the Mahabharat,” Pant said.
Reflecting on his discussions with Gen Z, Pant added that the old parties must now reform themselves in line with the demands of the new generation. “Gen Z has written on the wall—they won’t support us, they won’t trust us. The only option left for us now is to reform ourselves,” he said.
He further stated that protests alone are not enough to fight corruption, and urged the youth either to come forward with their own political party or to join existing ones. Speaking about the September 8–9 protests, Pant remarked that security forces were clueless about the number of participants and the possibility of infiltration in the movement.
