KATHMANDU, July 11: Nepal Police have arrested five individuals with 40 kilograms of marijuana. According to Apilraj Bohora, spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu, those arrested include Nirajan Chepang, Prakash Chepang, and Shankar Chepang from Gajuri Municipality-4, Dhading, and Jiwan Praja and Suman Chepang from Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.
Police also seized Rs 125,000 in cash from them. The suspects had hidden the cannabis at Sunnam Chepang’s rented room in Koteshwor, Kathmandu, and were involved in its sale and distribution, police said.

Additionally, police have also arrested two individuals involved in a theft and robbery case and initiated legal proceedings against them. According to police, on March 11, 2025, two individuals robbed a woman of her two tola gold necklace while she was traveling in a bus from Amarsingh Chowk to Lekhnath in Pokhara.
The suspects, Anjan Tamang of Bethanchok, Kavrepalanchok, and Suresh Tamang of Gokarneshwor, Kathmandu, were arrested from Gokarneshwor Municipality-4. The investigation is ongoing after the court extended their remand.
