KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday increased marginally by 9.16 points to close at 2,770.39 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,761.22 points and went down to the day’s low at 2,756.32 points in the first 51 minutes. The index however escalated and reached the day’s high at 2,779.39 points in the next two hours. The market was corrected by around nine points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Others and Mutual funds were the two gainers that witnessed a decline of 15.43 points and 0.10 points, respectively. The trading index surged by the largest of 53.38 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also increased 1.66 points. The daily turnover however declined to Rs 6.17 billion from Rs 7.73 billion in the intraday trading.
Among the individual companies, 175 were gainers while 74 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 217.52 million.
The share price of Union Hydropower Limited increased 6.10 percent, the largest of all. With a decline of 4.81 percent, Sampada Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited stood as the topmost loser.
