He noted that during this major festival, members of the Muslim community forget personal grievances, resentment, and hostility, and celebrate the occasion with joy by exchanging greetings and goodwill. They gather at open grounds, Idgahs, or mosques to offer special Eid prayers and embrace each other as a symbol of unity and celebration.
"This festival, which carries the message of faith, devotion, and service to society, plays a significant role in promoting mutual goodwill, tolerance, harmony, unity, fraternity, and coexistence among Nepalis living around the world, despite religious and cultural diversity. It also helps preserve and promote Nepal's unique traditions and heritage," President Paudel stated.
He further expressed hope that Eid al-Adha would inspire all Nepalis to strengthen national unity, tolerance, and goodwill, and contribute to building a prosperous and progressive society.
