Women's role crucial to advance society: DPM Singh

He argued that the values of the Teej festival should not be disfigured while observing this festival, adding that this festival has remained as a tradition to express women's achievements and grief through songs and dances.

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakashman Singh has said that the women's role was crucial to take the society ahead. 



At a Teej celebration programme organized by the Kathmandu constituency no. 1 of the Nepal Women Association on Wednesday, the Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that women's role in Nepal's major political transformations was important.

He argued that the values of the Teej festival should not be disfigured while observing this festival, adding that this festival has remained as a tradition to express women's achievements and grief through songs and dances. 


Likewise, he urged the women to be equally responsible in discharging their responsibilities along with seeking equal rights.
