KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Some parts of the country are likely to see rain today, with chances of moderate to heavy rainfall.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the hilly areas will be generally cloudy in the afternoon, while other areas will see partly cloudy skies.
Windstorm with rainfall likely today
Some places in the hills and a few spots in the rest of the country may get moderate rain. One or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi and Karnali provinces could see heavy rain.
At night, skies will be generally cloudy in Koshi and Madhes provinces and across the hilly belt, while other areas will remain partly cloudy.
There are chances of moderate rain in some parts of the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few places in the remaining hills and the Tarai. Heavy rain may also occur in one or two places in the Tarai of Koshi Province.
At present, the monsoon trough lies near its average position in the east and south of average in the west. The low-pressure system around Sikkim is influencing eastern Nepal, which is why heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Koshi Province.
