Taking to social media platform X, Dr Koirala said UML’s move goes against the consensus reached among coalition partners and the unanimous decision of the parliamentary committee.

He described the UML’s move as a reflection of its "double standards" and a betrayal of the nation, the people, democracy and the ruling alliance. He also urged NC to demand an official clarification from the UML and called on all parties to unite and ensure that the amendment is not passed under any circumstances. “Cooling-off period remains, and it will remain. Let no one be confused,” he wrote.
