KATHMANDU, Sept 11: The CPN-UML has urged all political parties to come together for mutual dialogue to safeguard the nation’s constitutional and democratic achievements.



In a statement issued by the party secretariat, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel made the appeal in light of the country’s evolving political situation.

“In the current context, we urge the federal parliament, judiciary, provincial assemblies, provincial governments, and local levels to play constructive roles in protecting democracy. An environment must be ensured for local governments to deliver services without disruption,” the statement read.


The UML further stated: “We call on all political parties committed to the constitution, democracy, republicanism, peace, and national sovereignty to engage in dialogue and build consensus to safeguard constitutional and democratic achievements.”


The party also made clear that, following the Prime Minister’s resignation, the political way forward must be pursued strictly through constitutional and democratic means.
