KAPILVASTU, May 16: Two women died after being struck by a speeding car at Basantapur in Buddhabhumi Municipality-1, Kapilvastu.
Police Inspector from Area Police Office, Gorusinghe, Birat Sharma Paudel, said the incident occurred this morning along the Gorusinghe-Arghakhanchi road section while the two women were out for a walk.

The deceased persons have been identified as Shanta Khatri, 60, and Til Kumari Rayamajhi, 65. Both women were critically injured in the accident and succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital.
Police have detained the car driver Khimraj Shrestha, 32, of Sainamaina Municipality-5, Rupandehi district.
