SARLAHI, Aug 2: A banana plant in the kitchen garden of Mohan Bahadur Karki at Hariwan Municipality-8 in the district has produced 87 bunches of bananas on a seven-feet-long stalk (rachis).
The 87 bunches bear more than two thousand banana fruits. Karki said he had brought the banana sapling from the Chure hill area and planted it in his kitchen garden. It started to bear fruits about four years later.
Karki said the bananas that grow on this plant are tasty like the Malbhog variety bananas but he does not know which variety it belongs to. RSS
