Two held for defrauding five of Rs 5.8 million with UK and Qatar job promises

KATHMANDU, June 26: Police have arrested and made public two individuals on charges of defrauding Rs 5.8 million under the pretext of sending people to the UK and Qatar for foreign employment.



Thirty one-year-old Nabina Dahal Ghimire from Baiteshwor Rural Municipality-3, Dolakha, and 43-year-old Lachhuman Sah Teli from Kaudena Municipality-4, Siraha, have been arrested and made public on the charge of cheating people of the said amount, said Superintendent of Police Kaji Kumar Acharya, the information officer at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

"They were arrested from Kathmandu based on the complaint of the victims, who reported that Nabina had taken Rs 5.2 million from two people on the false promise of sending them to the UK and Lachhuman had taken Rs 600,000 from three people claiming to send them to Qatar," SP Acharya said.


SP Acharya stated that the detained individuals have been sent to the Foreign Employment Department in Tahachal for necessary investigation and action.
