During the escape attempt, seven other inmates were injured. The injured prisoners have been sent to the Central Jail in Kathmandu and will be transferred to hospitals for treatment depending on their condition, Subedi said.

Although prisoners began attempting to escape from 9:00 AM, the rebellion escalated at around 1:18 PM. Multiple efforts to stop them failed, forcing security personnel to open fire, according to Subedi.

Six security personnel were also injured while bringing the situation under control, but their condition is reported as stable. Subedi added that firing became necessary after the inmates began attacking the army personnel.
