Two arrested on charge of foreign employment fraud

KATHMANDU, April 13: Two individuals have been arrested on charges of defrauding individuals  by promising attractive salaries and foreign employment in the UK and Canada.



According to police, the arrested individuals has been identified as Khyam Khadka, 35, a resident of Chulachuli Municipality-3, Ilam, currently residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-29, and Ishwar Pokhrel, 23, a resident of Gramthan Municipality-6, Morang, currently residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-30.

Khadka had reportedly taken a sum of Rs 3.6 million from two victims, promising to send them to the UK, while Pokhrel had taken Rs 1.05 million from another victim, promising to send them to Canada. A complaint was filed against the duo after they became uncontactable after receiving the money from the victims.


According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Khadka was arrested on Saturday from Mahalaxmi Municipality-8 in Lalitpur, and Pokhrel was arrested on Friday from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14.
