KATHMANDU, May 11: Western disturbances, local winds, and moisture-laden air from the Arabian Sea are currently influencing Nepal's weather, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
This afternoon, the hilly regions of Koshi, Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, and other parts of the country will experience partly to generally cloudy skies. The rest of the country will see mainly fair to partly cloudy conditions. Some areas in Sudurpaschim and other hilly regions will likely receive light to moderate rainfall.
Partial rain likely in hilly region today
A few places in other regions may witness light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. The mountainous regions could see light snowfall and rain at isolated locations. Gusty winds may also affect some parts of Madhesh Province.
Tonight, partly cloudy skies will persist in the hilly regions, while other areas will remain mostly clear. A few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces may receive light rain with thunder and lightning. Light snowfall and rainfall could occur at isolated spots in the mountainous regions of these provinces, according to the DHM.
